Description:
After the baby is born, we will offer postnatal classes. It is an open group that moms can join at any time during the first year of their baby’s life. This group provides enormous support for young mothers. Several topics will be discussed such as the stages of baby development, brain development, language development, nutrition, how to prepare baby food, relationship challenges after the birth of baby, going back to school or work, attachment, breastfeeding support and positive discipline. The program is adapted to the needs of the mothers attending the sessions. We are very fortunate to have the cooperation of many partners who will come to share their expertise.
We provide breastfeeding support groups and breastfeeding mentors who will be there to sustain mothers who choose to breastfeed. This free service is available by phone. The Quintessence Breastfeeding Challenge happens once a year in the fall.
